Reconnect to Vital Life Energy
For thousands of years, many world cultures have studied and appreciated natural energy, or vital life force. All living things have it, and it appears to have it’s own intelligence. It has been referred to as chi, or prana, or ki, among many other names – perhaps even Holy Spirit. However, modern western cultures do not acknowledge an awareness of life force in daily life. We are culturally unaware of the ready availability of life force to us, let alone the benefits of consciously, intentionally connecting with it. We therefore do not have a common vocabulary to describe (and thus understand) this energy; we now generally use terms borrowed from Eastern traditions that have maintained conscious awareness and development of life force, such as the concept of energy vortexes in the body called chakras.
Western cultures focused instead on developing rational science and medicine – studying diseases, isolating and dissecting the parts of the body, ’specializing’ in areas of expertise. There are benefits to pursuing this body of knowledge, especially in cases of acute trauma; however, conventional western medicine has been much less successful in the treatment of chronic and systemic illnesses - which I experience energetically as having emotional and spiritual components, in addition to the physical. The standard allopathic medical model typically does not treat a person as a whole interrelated system (although there has been forward progress in this recently). For people facing chronic illness, this is where the benefit of working with complementary practitioners, who view the human as a whole being, becomes an essential component in supporting their total recovery. Actively learning to reconnect with vital life force, and consciously exploring the ways it benefits your life, offers you improved health and happiness. Best of all, vital life force is available to us all – for free!
